Summary
Panji is a principled young man who operates an orphanage of his own founding, which houses approximately thirteen children. Nadia, a journalist, enters his life by chance when Panji intervenes during her attempted suicide. This encounter establishes a connection between them, and Panji subsequently invites her to reside at the orphanage. The two develop a close association and jointly assume responsibility for the children under Panji’s care.
In parallel, Professor Latief becomes the target of a criminal group seeking to exploit his research for malicious purposes. Pursued through a forest during heavy rain, he succeeds in evading capture and reaches the home of Professor Adam, to whom he entrusts his creation. After delivering a warning regarding the item, Professor Latief departs and disappears. The criminals, having failed in their pursuit, report to their leader, Donclo, a minor underworld figure who possesses unusual abilities derived from Professor Latief’s work. Donclo has broken with the professor and now seeks him for his own ends. He reprimands his subordinates, Jarwo and Mat Brewok, for their failure and orders them to resume the search the following day, instructing them to secure both the professor and anyone associated with him, dead or alive.
The next morning, Panji and Dolly travel to the market to purchase basic supplies. Panji’s outstanding debt at one of the stalls provokes the anger of the stall owner, who chases Panji and Dolly after Panji takes goods without settling his account. At the same time, Jarwo’s group learns that Professor Latief’s creation is now in Professor Adam’s possession. The criminals pursue Professor Adam, driving him into the market. During the chase, Professor Adam collides with Dolly, scattering her groceries, and discreetly places Professor Latief’s item into her shopping cart before fleeing once more with the criminals in pursuit. Confused and unsettled by the incident, Panji assists Dolly in gathering the remaining groceries, and the two return home once they are certain the stall owner is no longer following them.
