Summary
Following a series of violent crimes targeting several affluent Filipino families, the victims collaborate to establish and finance a foundation dedicated to combating organised criminal activity. Under the leadership of a figure known as Guro, an unsanctioned government‑aligned organisation forms a covert operational unit tasked with confronting these threats.
The members of this unit are themselves survivors of severe and traumatic offences. Drawing inspiration from pre‑colonial Filipino warriors, they adopt protective armour, traditional war paint, and symbolic tattoos. This distinctive appearance earns them the collective designation The Pintados, meaning “The Painted Ones.”
The Pintados face opposition from an army commanded by Katana, a human–reptile hybrid whose forces represent the primary antagonistic threat to the group’s mission.
