Summary
Seo Ji‑seong, an AI specialist at Pelican Electronics, aspires to construct a perfectly ordered life, mirroring the precision of the household‑appliance systems she develops. While working on a voice‑activated, AI‑enhanced refrigerator, she inadvertently incorporates a highly advanced sensor chip previously lost by the National Intelligence Service. The unexpected interaction between the chip and the appliance’s software produces an anomalous program, nicknamed Ancestral Spirit, which identifies undesirable individuals rather than assessing food freshness. Through this system, Ji‑seong discovers that her seemingly ideal fiancé, Jeong‑han, is not the flawless partner she believed him to be.
Her assumptions are further challenged with the arrival of Jung Kook‑hee, a firefighter who has no social‑media presence and therefore cannot be analysed by the program. Ji‑seong becomes wary of him, unsettled by the absence of any digital trace of his past.
