Summary
The plot of The Power God is initiated by an invention created by Professor Sturgess (the atomically powered engine), a device capable of operating through atomic energy. Following the professor’s murder at the hands of criminal adversaries, the sole remaining holder of the engine’s technical secret is his daughter (Gerber), who suffers from amnesia and is therefore unable to recall the details of her father’s work.
Accompanied by her lover (Wilson), she survives a series of attempts on their lives while fleeing those who seek the invention. During the course of their escape, a head injury restores her memory, enabling her to recover the lost knowledge. The narrative concludes with the successful patenting of the atomically powered engine, securing the invention as the couple’s legally recognised private property.
