Summary
Prey is a science‑fiction drama set in 2012, depicting the emergence of a newly evolved species within the Homo genus. These beings, highly intelligent and outwardly human, begin to compete with Homo sapiens, appearing both as violent offenders and as covert participants in modern society. Sloan Parker, an anthropologist, investigates the species after confirming her mentor’s research and discovering that its existence poses a potential threat to humanity.
Parker’s work is complicated by her relationship with FBI Agent Tom Daniels, who is revealed to be one of the new beings and subsequently disappears to protect himself and his species. She also collaborates with Detective Ray Peterson, unaware that he is pursuing adversaries unlike any he has previously encountered. Within her laboratory, Parker faces opposition from Dr Walter Attwood, who seeks to exploit the discovery for personal gain, while receiving support from colleague Dr Ed Tate.
As the new species fights for survival, humanity confronts an evolutionary rival that mirrors itself, leaving the ultimate outcome uncertain.
