Summary
Astronomer‑inventor Craven proudly unveils the construction plans for his experimental Rocketship to a Martian whom Barcroft presents as an ally. The visitor responds coldly that this moment will also be Craven’s last. What follows is regarded as one of the more distinctive and engaging productions within the serial format.
Barcroft murders the scientist, assumes his identity, and begins orchestrating the preliminary stages of a Martian invasion, aided by a network of criminal associates. Moore ultimately thwarts the scheme while repeatedly rescuing the perpetually endangered Stirling.
