Summary
Raising Dion follows Nicole, a widowed mother who is raising her young son Dion after the death of her husband, Mark. The challenges of single parenthood become increasingly complex when Dion begins to exhibit a range of extraordinary, superhero‑like abilities. With assistance from Mark’s best friend, Pat, Nicole attempts to conceal Dion’s emerging powers, protect him from individuals seeking to exploit his abilities, and uncover the origins of his unusual gifts.
Set two years after the events of the first season, Dion and his friends Esperanza and Johnathon, who now serve as juvenile city peace‑keepers, assisting in maintaining order within their community. Their responsibilities become increasingly complex when the Crooked Energy, a malevolent force, takes possession of Brayden, a young boy from Alabama who has been drawn specifically to Dion.
The Crooked Energy subsequently introduces a pathogenic agent into one of three internationally occurring sinkholes, resulting in the spread of a highly contagious and ultimately fatal infection. Nicole, Dion’s mother, becomes afflicted by the disease, creating a critical threat both to her survival and to the broader population.
