Summary
After crash‑landing in a remote Colorado town, an extra-terrestrial operative tasked with the eradication of humanity kills a vacationing physician and assumes his identity. Soon after, he is asked to perform an autopsy on the town’s doctor, who has died under unexplained circumstances, and subsequently takes over the doctor’s duties at the local clinic.
While maintaining his disguise, he confronts the ethical implications of his covert mission and contends with the mayor’s young son, who possesses the unusual ability to perceive his true alien form. Over time, the extra-terrestrial develops empathy for human beings and ultimately acts to protect them from additional off‑world threats.
