Summary
Residue follows photojournalist Jennifer Preston (Natalia Tena), who begins to experience and document a series of anomalous, seemingly spectral phenomena in the wake of a devastating explosion in a metropolitan nightclub. As her investigation deepens, Preston uncovers evidence of a government‑orchestrated cover‑up surrounding the establishment of a designated quarantine zone (QZ) that encloses the affected district and conceals the true nature of events occurring within it.
Her search for clarity intersects with several key figures, including her partner Jonas Flack (Iwan Rheon), a government spokesperson entangled in official narratives, and Levi Mathis (Jamie Draven), a police officer traumatised by personal loss and struggling to reconcile his experiences with the unfolding crisis. The series examines themes of paranormal disturbance, institutional secrecy, and the destabilisation of civic order following the catastrophic incident.
