Summary
The Rainbow Line is a mystical railway visible only to individuals possessing exceptional imagination. It is traversed by colossal, specialized trains known as Ressha, which serve as the primary vehicles of the five warriors collectively designated as the ToQgers. These warriors are charged with defending towns threatened by the malevolent Shadow Line, an organization that harnesses human fear and sorrow to construct its own railway network. The Shadow Line’s ultimate objective is to facilitate the arrival of its sovereign, Emperor Zet, whose ambition is to consume all light and envelop the world in darkness.
The ToQgers are childhood companions whose hometown was previously subsumed by the Shadow Line, leaving them bereft of their memories. Their campaign thus serves a dual purpose: resisting the Shadow Line’s expansion and recovering the lost recollections of their past. Their ranks later expand with the inclusion of Akira Nijino, a reformed Shadow Creep who defects from the Shadow Line. Together, the team undertakes systematic efforts to liberate Shadow Towns from their oppressive Shadow Creep Keepers, seeking both to restore the towns’ light and to reclaim fragments of their own history. Meanwhile, internal dissent within the Shadow Line introduces additional instability to the conflict.
