Summary
In the rural community of Wausau, Wisconsin, an unprecedented phenomenon occurs when several recently deceased individuals suddenly return to life on an event later termed Revival Day. Known as Revivers, these resurrected persons retain their physical appearance, memories, and personalities from their previous lives, while exhibiting enhanced regenerative abilities that allow them to heal from injuries with remarkable speed.
As the town struggles to comprehend the implications of the event, police officer Dana Cypress becomes involved in a complex murder investigation in which both the living and the newly revived emerge as potential suspects. Her sister, Martha "Em" Cypress, one of the Revivers, attempts to adapt to her altered existence while seeking to uncover the origins and underlying cause of Revival Day.
