Summary
Set in a post‑apocalyptic near future, the narrative takes place in 2027, fifteen years after a global catastrophe known as The Blackout. In 2012, this event caused the permanent failure of all electricity on Earth, disabling every electrically powered system, from computers and household electronics to automobiles, trains, ships, and aircraft. The sudden loss of power resulted in widespread infrastructural collapse: vehicles halted in place, maritime vessels drifted without propulsion, and aircraft fell from the sky. In the aftermath, human societies gradually adapted to a world in which modern technology could no longer function.
