Summary
A Scottish oil rig operating in the North Sea becomes shrouded in an anomalous fog that severs all external communication links. Within this phenomenon, microscopic spores are discovered, and crew members exposed to them begin exhibiting marked behavioural alterations. Analysis conducted by a scientist stationed on the platform suggests that the spores may originate from an ancient parasitic organism released from the ocean floor.
