Summary
Rocky Star was a science‑fiction radio serial produced in the 1950s. The original programme, which totalled approximately 600 minutes of audio, was later adapted into a 100‑minute live‑action television production by Stephen Fearnley, Stephen Harrop, and Andrew Trauchi. Their adaptation employed the original radio soundtrack, which was dubbed over newly filmed performances.
The narrative follows the interplanetary exploits of Rocky Star and his assistant Mitch Morgan as they confront the antagonists Zog and Cos. The television version was structured as twenty episodes, each approximately five minutes in duration, and was notable for its occasional musical interludes in which cast members broke into song. These episodes were broadcast as part of the anthology series Eat Carpet in 1993.
