Summary
Rugal centres on Kang Gi‑beom (portrayed by Choi Jin‑hyuk), an elite officer within South Korea’s national police who becomes embroiled in a conflict with Argos, one of the country’s most powerful criminal syndicates. Following his attempts to dismantle the organization, Argos retaliates by orchestrating the murder of Kang’s wife and arranging for him to be blinded and falsely implicated in the crime.
Subsequently, Kang is approached by the National Intelligence Service and recruited into Rugal, a covert task force composed of operatives enhanced through advanced biotechnological implants that confer superhuman capabilities. Provided with artificial ocular implants that restore and augment his vision, Kang undertakes a mission to clear his name and pursue those responsible for the destruction of his family.
