Summary
Following a global climatic catastrophe, future societies institute the Sanctuary, an isolated dome engineered to provide controlled atmospheric and environmental conditions for gestation. Pregnant women reside within this facility for the duration of their term, living apart from their families and the wider population under the belief that separation from contaminated air is essential for fetal protection. The Sanctuary is presented as a place of tranquillity, medical supervision, and social seclusion. However, the arrival of Pilar initiates a sequence of revelations that exposes the true nature and purpose of the institution.
