Summary
The series’ overarching narrative is set in the year 2500, by which time an extra terrestrial force known as the Space Pirates has established dominion over a conquered Earth. Their invasion began in 2005 with the arrival of a single warship accompanied by a small fleet. After securing the twelve Cosmo Capsules, the invaders rapidly expanded their military strength, deploying large numbers of Megarion war machines across the planet. The resulting conflict endured for five centuries, leaving the Earth’s surface devastated and its major cities destroyed. Human populations were forced to relocate to underwater facilities to avoid detection.
With little prospect of reclaiming the present‑day Earth, the remaining resistance launches a final strategic offensive. Centred on a small unit of soldiers designated Sazer‑X, the plan aims to create sufficient diversionary pressure for the team to enter a briefly appearing wormhole. The operation succeeds, enabling Sazer‑X to travel back to the year 2005, prior to the Space Pirates’ initial incursion. There, the group allies with Ando Takuto, undertaking a mission to secure the twelve Cosmo Capsules and defend Earth against the impending invasion.
