Summary
Andrea Thomas, a science teacher at Larkspur High School, secretly adopted the identity of Isis, a superhero whose existence remained unknown to her colleagues and students. During a scientific expedition, Thomas discovered an ancient Egyptian amulet originally crafted by the Royal Sorcerer for an Egyptian queen. According to legend, the amulet endowed its bearer with extraordinary abilities, including the capacity to soar like a falcon, run with the speed of a gazelle, and exert control over natural elements. Upon acquiring the artifact, Thomas inherited these powers and transformed into Isis by reciting a ceremonial incantation.
Among her associates at Larkspur High School was Rick Manson, a fellow teacher who served as Thomas’s principal romantic interest. Episodes frequently concluded with Manson recounting Isis’s heroic interventions, which Thomas invariably appeared to have missed. In the early episodes, Thomas’s favoured student was Cindy Lee, a role later assumed by Renne Carroll during the programme’s second season. The head of Larkspur High School, Dr. Barnes, appeared intermittently throughout the series.
