Summary
During his university studies, Sawamura Dai achieved distinction by deciphering the geoglyphic figures on the Nazca Plain. His accomplishments attracted the attention of the Galactic Union Police, who subsequently recruited the young archaeologist and provided him with specialized training to serve as Earth’s third Space Sheriff in recent years.
He was designated Shaider, a name chosen in honour of the ancient hero who defeated the Mu Empire and vanquished Fuuma approximately 12,000 years earlier. As Space Sheriff Shaider, Sawamura partnered with Annie in renewed efforts to suppress the modern resurgence of Fuuma. Despite expectations of a collaborative operation involving his predecessors, Gavan and Sharivan, Shaider ultimately resolved the conflict independently; the anticipated crossover did not occur until a special broadcast on 8 March 1985.
