Summary
Humanity is described as having lived in peace until the onset of the Kali Yuga, an era associated with moral decline, greed, and hatred. Over a period of 6,000 years, this deterioration prompted a mystical order of saints known as the Suryanshis to intervene in order to restore balance. They selected a single individual to rise against emerging forces of evil and safeguard society. Through rigorous training in Kundalini Yoga, he awakened his seven chakras, granting him a range of mystical and supernatural abilities. His initiation included the ritual of death, during which he immersed himself in holy fire to attain complete mastery over his powers. When the five natural elements, fire, earth, water, wind, and sky, merged with his being, he transcended human limitations and became a superhuman protector. His heroic actions led journalist Geeta Vishwas to name him Shaktimaan.
The narrative later reveals that Shaktimaan is the reincarnation of Shri Satya, a member of the Suryanshi Sect who lived during the Mahabharata era approximately 5,000 years earlier. To preserve his anonymity in the modern world, he adopts the persona of Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, an eccentric and formally spoken Hindi‑speaking photographer whose comedic behaviour conceals his true identity.
Shaktimaan’s principal adversary is Tamraj Kilvish, the embodiment of darkness and malevolence. 'Kilvish seeks to propagate corruption and chaos throughout society, positioning himself as the antithesis of Shaktimaan’s mission and symbolising the enduring struggle between light and darkness.
