Summary
Motoharu and Mio have been married for five years and are raising two children together. Motoharu works at a bank and experiences significant stress due to his workload and the demands of his supervisor. At home, he is frequently scolded by his wife, whose temperament has changed considerably since their early relationship. The two first met when Motoharu was a university student and served as Mio’s tutor while she was in high school. They fell in love and eventually married, with Mio once characterised as cheerful and endearing. In the present, however, she often directs her frustrations toward Motoharu, leading him to complain to friends that she has become a monster.
Motoharu unexpectedly encounters a former university acquaintance who had been popular among male students. She reveals that she once had feelings for him, prompting Motoharu to wonder how his life might have unfolded had he chosen differently. His circumstances take an unusual turn when he receives a 500‑yen coin from a mysterious man, an event that causes him to travel back in time to his university days.
