Summary
Centuries ago, the feudal warlord Gengetsu Kibaoni was slain by the Igasaki Ninja clan after renouncing his humanity and transforming into a Yokai. Although he later attempted to rise again, he was defeated and sealed by Yoshitaka Igasaki, who came to be known as the Last Ninja. Three generations afterward, Kibaoni is released from his seal by his retainer, Kyuemon Izayoi, enabling him to resume his campaign of destruction.
Because only members of the Igasaki bloodline possess the ability to oppose the Yokai, Yoshitaka’s son, Tsumuji Igasaki, forms a new generation of warriors known as the Ninningers. The group consists of his children, Takaharu and Fuka, along with their companions Yakumo Katō, Nagi Matsuo, and Kasumi Momochi. Under Tsumuji’s guidance, they train in the clan’s Shuriken Ninja Arts to combat the Kibaoni Army Corps.
The team is later joined by Kinji Takigawa, a Yokai Hunter from the United States who becomes Yoshitaka’s disciple after earning his trust. According to their grandfather, one among the Ninningers will ultimately inherit the title of Last Ninja and safeguard the Igasaki family’s ultimate treasure, the End Shuriken. This artifact is also sought by the Kibaoni Corps, who intend to use it to fully revive their master and impose dominion over the world through fear.
