Summary
A group of sixteen contestants arrives in a remote Siberian forest to participate in a high‑stakes reality competition offering a prize of $500,000. Shortly after their arrival, two participants are eliminated, leaving fourteen individuals to begin the contest in earnest. Their initial plans are disrupted when one contestant dies unexpectedly; although the incident unsettles the group, they ultimately accept the official explanation that the death was accidental.
As the competition progresses, a series of unusual events further destabilizes the remaining contestants. When one participant is seriously injured and no external assistance is provided, the group recognizes that they must cooperate to ensure their survival in an unfamiliar and inhospitable environment. Subsequent phenomena mirror accounts recorded by local inhabitants during the Tunguska event a century earlier, suggesting that the contestants are experiencing disturbances analogous to those historically associated with that unexplained occurrence.
