Summary
In the year 2052, the Star Runner is two years into a projected ninety‑year interstellar voyage to the Silver Sun, a potentially habitable planet located approximately 45 light‑years from Earth. The mission’s primary objective is the safe transport of the designated New Settlers, who are intended to establish a permanent human colony upon arrival.
Because the duration of the journey will exceed the natural lifespan of the adult crew, the vessel is staffed predominantly by adolescent cadets trained to assume full operational authority as the older officers age.
