Summary
An unidentified flying object appears over Tokyo and begins attacking passing aircraft. The Solbrain team is dispatched to investigate, consisting of its leader Shunsuke Masaki (Miyauchi) and members Daki Nishio (Nakayama), Reiko Higuchi (Mori), Jun Masuda (Iura), Takeshi Yazawa (Kawai), along with the scientist Midori Aikawa (Irie).
The UFO is revealed to be controlled by the biocomputer A320, created by the controversial scientist Inagaki, who proclaims that nothing, neither human authority nor his own creators, can impede the advance of scientific evolution. A320, seeking to obtain a physical body (a concept comparable to themes explored in Ghost in the Shell), demands that Inagaki comply with its wishes. The Solbrain team intervenes just in time, prompting the enraged A320 to crash the UFO into Inagaki’s laboratory. The resulting destruction necessitates a rescue operation, with the Solbrain team arriving to extract survivors from the debris.
