Summary
Sole Survivor is a television miniseries adapted from the best‑selling novel by Dean Koontz. The narrative follows newspaper reporter Joe Carpenter (portrayed by Billy Zane), who is grieving the loss of his wife and daughter after a catastrophic plane crash. As Carpenter investigates the circumstances surrounding the disaster, he uncovers indications that the crash may have been connected to an illicit scientific programme involving genetically altered children.
Carpenter is approached at his wife's gravesite by Rose Tucker (played by Gloria Reuben), who claims to be the sole survivor of the crash. Her appearance draws Carpenter into a wider conspiracy orchestrated by the clandestine Quartermass Organization, whose agents seek to capture Rose and a young girl under her protection. The child possesses extraordinary abilities, including accelerated healing and teleportation.
Opposing them is a telepathic boy capable of exerting remote mental control, as well as a ruthless assassin (portrayed by John C. McGinley) employed by the organization. The miniseries follows Carpenter's efforts to expose the truth while safeguarding Rose and the gifted child from Quartermass’s pursuit.
