Summary
As Earth’s nations prepare for large‑scale exploration of outer space, Japan’s Andromeda Institute stands years ahead of global competitors, owing to the scientific brilliance of its supervisor, Professor Kawanaka (Minamoto). The Institute’s experimental spacecraft, Radar One, is launched on its maiden voyage, but the mission ends in catastrophe. Among those lost is the elder brother of Sakaze (Hirai), a determined young boy whose family has long been associated with the Institute. Although presumed dead, the missing crew of Radar One are soon revealed to be victims of a larger pattern: several Earth missions have inadvertently intersected with the covert operations of the Demon Empire, a clandestine organisation intent on global domination.
The Demon Empire’s schemes are repeatedly thwarted by the personnel of the Andromeda Institute, whose scientific expertise and vigilance place them at the forefront of Earth’s defence. Their efforts are occasionally aided by the enigmatic Space Government Man, a masked astronaut who appears at critical moments to deliver guidance and encouragement. His inspirational messages to Sakaze bear a striking resemblance to the words once spoken by Sakaze’s missing brother, hinting at a deeper connection between the mysterious figure and the ill‑fated Radar One mission.
