Summary
Set aboard the spacecraft Guisto, Space Pirates presents a music‑focused children’s programme in which the crew delivers a half‑hour selection of songs drawn from varied genres. Guisto orbits Earth under the command of Captain DJ, who searches for material to broadcast on his pirate radio station, Guisto FM. His crew includes the space‑savvy children Honk and Tonk, Lippy the talking microphone, and the alien barnacle Zorst, who provides travel and weather reports. Additional characters include Jolly Roger, the irritable ship’s flag, and The Jingles, a puppet rat trio, Windy, Brassy, and Stringy, serving as the resident band.
Each episode begins with an Earth‑based Pirate Posse issuing a musical challenge, such as finding a song suitable for dancing, singing along, or drumming. Captain DJ and his crew then identify three candidate tracks, from which the Pirate Posse selects the piece that concludes the programme.
