Summary
Star Wolf / Cosmic Hero Star Wolf centres on Ken, a young man raised among the Valnastar raiders who attack Earth in the 21st century. During the assault, Ken refuses to kill a boy who shares his name and, in the ensuing confrontation, kills his own partner. Branded a traitor, he flees in a stolen ship but is left adrift after a pursuit. He is rescued by the crew of the Terran vessel Bakkus III on board are Captain Joe, pilot Ryu (Rocky), computer specialist Hime (Tami), and cadet Billy.
Ken aids the crew during another Valnastar attack but, fearing rejection if his origins are discovered, briefly attempts to escape. Ultimately accepted after demonstrating extraordinary strength, he joins the Bakkus III on its missions. On the planet Karau, Ken is imprisoned after a bar fight, where he is confronted by Reeja (Rita), his former lover and the sister of the man he killed. Mortally wounded, she reveals that Ken is not truly Valnastarian but the child of Earth missionaries.
Ken returns to the Bakkus III, thwarts a mutiny by crewman Yorolin, and pilots the ship through a black hole to safety. The crew later crash-lands on Yorolin’s home-world, Sasser, where they destroy a doomsday device, though Yorolin dies attempting to deactivate it.
From episode 14 onward, retitled Cosmic Hero Star Wolf, the series shifts to a monster‑of‑the‑week format. Ken and his companions defend the galaxy from a succession of unusual threats, including the space dinosaur Nipopo, a gold‑painted android, and various interstellar bounty hunters.
