Summary
The series is a Japanese science‑fiction puppet drama set in the year 2999, following the conclusion of Space War Three. As the Solar System undergoes reconstruction under Earth’s leadership, various hostile planets and alien factions attempt to undermine these efforts. Central to the narrative is Lamia, a young woman of enigmatic origin whose destiny is linked to the arrival of the new millennium. At that moment, she is foretold to manifest as F‑01, a benevolent cosmic entity capable of restoring peace and stability throughout the Solar System.
Opposing this prophecy is the Imperial Master, the principal antagonist, who seeks Lamia’s destruction before the year 3000. His survival and dominion over the galaxy depend on preventing the emergence of F‑01. To achieve this, he deploys his forces under Commander Makara, a strikingly unusual figure combining both male and female characteristics and evoking the stylised villainy of Fu Manchu‑type archetypes.
Earth’s defence is led by Star Fleet, commanded by General Kyle. Its primary vessel, the X‑Bomber, is designed by Professor Hagen and crewed by his son Shiro, along with Barry Hercules, John Lee, Doctor Been, and Lamia herself.
Operating independently yet protectively is Captain Halley, a mysterious figure who commands the Skull, a space‑faring galleon that appears at critical moments. The conflict between Star Fleet and the Imperial Master’s forces intensifies as the millennium approaches, ultimately culminating in Lamia’s transformation and the decisive victory of Star Fleet.
