Summary
Chris, a twelve‑year‑old boy, possesses an unusually large and elaborate computer system in his bedroom, equipped with an array of dials and levers. Despite its eccentric design, the machine is capable of establishing a video link with a future era in which Ingrid, a girl approximately thirteen years old, resides aboard a spacecraft within a distant space colony. Through this connection, Chris and Ingrid engage in regular conversations: Chris describes contemporary life on Earth, while Ingrid offers accounts of daily existence within the colony’s extra-terrestrial environment.
