Summary
Dan Shishimaru is the central figure of a narrative set in Feudal Japan, a period in which the preservation of personal honour was regarded as paramount among the warrior class. The story follows Shishimaru, a 22‑year‑old samurai who seeks retribution after the death of his brother, Dan Kage Noshin, at the hands of Nezuma, a humanoid monster allied with the malevolent organisation known as Mantle. Motivated by a combined sense of justice and vengeance, Shishimaru enters into conflict with the group responsible for his brother’s demise.
In continuity with the original Shishimaru, Dan Shishimaru possesses the ability to transform into a superpowered anthropomorphic lion, a form in which he wields a specialised katana.
