Summary
The series centres on two boys, Jason (Andrew Jenkins) and Lee (Calum Worthy), who are transported to an alien world known as Stormworld after a vortex engulfs their boat during a trip that began in Vancouver, Canada. Upon arrival, the presence of three suns in the sky leads them to conclude that they are no longer on Earth. The pair soon encounter Flees (Valentina Barron), an experienced inhabitant of Stormworld who operates a specialised vessel named Stormrider. Classified by the local population as access crashers, Jason and Lee take refuge at a community referred to as The Settlement.
Stormworld functions as a destination for individuals and objects drawn from numerous worlds. Transit to Stormworld occurs when large beetle‑like creatures generate a vortex linking it to another location. The environment consists of a vast salt‑water ocean interspersed with islands and characterised by a hot climate. Fresh water is scarce and constitutes the central resource for survival, prompting continual searches for potable water, including the legendary Great Water. An economy based on trade and barter has developed around the assortment of items transported through the vortexes.
