Summary
Five individuals of Black heritage from South London, a delivery driver, a gang leader, a nurse, a financially constrained father, and a drug dealer, discover that they share a familial predisposition to sickle‑cell disease. This shared genetic background becomes the catalyst for an unexpected physiological transformation, granting each of them superhuman abilities. As they gradually encounter one another and recognise the common origin of their powers, they are forced into alliance to resist a covert organisation intent on capturing and controlling them.
