Summary
Tanaka Hiroshi is an ordinary young man who works at a gyoza (Japanese Dumplings) restaurant and leads a modest, routine life aboard Scabelia, a massive vessel inhabited by 60 million people. Content with his simple existence, Hiroshi values financial prudence, close personal relationships, and the stability of his daily routine.
His life changes dramatically when a chance encounter with university student Masa Shizuka at a library triggers an unprecedented crisis within Scabelia. At the same time, Akemi Bardot unexpectedly assumes command of the vessel after its captain loses their position, forcing her to navigate a series of escalating challenges while facing opposition from political leaders and competing interests aboard the ship.
As events within Scabelia become increasingly intertwined with developments in the outside world, the inhabitants are confronted with difficult choices that will shape their collective future. Amid the growing turmoil, Hiroshi and Shizuka must determine their own paths as the fate of Scabelia hangs in the balance.
