Summary
Kara Zor‑El, the daughter of Zor‑El and Alura, was dispatched from Krypton to Earth at the age of thirteen with the specific charge of safeguarding her infant cousin Kal‑El. During transit, her vessel was deflected from its intended course and became trapped within the Phantom Zone, where it remained for twenty‑four years. Upon finally emerging and crash‑landing on Earth, Kara discovered that Kal‑El had already matured and established himself as Superman.
The narrative commences twelve years after her arrival, as Kara elects to embrace her Kryptonian abilities and adopt the heroic identity of Supergirl.
