Summary
Set in the early 2000s, the series centres on a group of ordinary individuals who survive the aftermath of a catastrophic viral pandemic known as the European flu. The pathogen triggers lethal cytokine storms within the immune system, resulting in the deaths of most of the global population. In the wake of this collapse, the survivors confront extreme hazards in a world stripped of social order, policing structures, and formal legal authority.
At the core of the group is Abby Grant, who emerges as its de facto matriarch. Under her leadership, the characters navigate the profound instability of a post‑pandemic landscape, contending with both environmental threats and the absence of institutional support.
