Summary
Tiago reunites with Cornelia and declares his long‑standing love for her, provoking jealousy from her suitor Vincent and disapproval from her father, Mayor Mariano. When Cornelia and Tiago plan to elope, Tiago is summoned to the mayor’s home, where he discovers Mariano gravely injured. Vincent arrives, frames Tiago for the murder, and Tiago is sentenced to life imprisonment.
In prison, Tiago befriends several inmates and learns that Cornelia has married Vincent. He later encounters Castro, who possesses the legendary amulet Pangil ng Kidlat. Before dying, Castro gives Tiago the amulet and urges him to prove his innocence. Tiago and his companions escape and confront Vincent, who privately admits to killing Mayor Mariano. During a struggle, Cornelia is accidentally shot and, before dying, reveals that she and Tiago have a son, Martin. Vincent then falsely claims Tiago killed her.
Tiago retrieves Martin with the help of his allies and shelters him at Norma’s home, where Martin gradually accepts his father’s innocence. A voice recording of Vincent’s confession confirms the truth. Vincent eventually surrenders, but Max, seeking the amulet, kills him. Tiago is cleared of all charges and marries Norma.
Max later abducts Martin and demands the amulet. Tiago relinquishes it and transfers its protection to Martin. Max shoots Tiago during the confrontation, and Tiago dies from his injuries. He is buried in the local cemetery, where his family and neighbours mourn him.
