Summary
This post‑modern reinterpretation of L. Frank Baum’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation centres on DG, portrayed by Zooey Deschanel, who is transported to an alternate realm known as the O.Z. (Outer Zone). Within this world, she undertakes a search for her parents and is accompanied by three companions: Glitch, a man deprived of half his brain due to knowledge he once possessed; Raw, a member of the empathic Viewer species capable of reading emotions and providing healing; and Cain, a former law‑enforcement officer referred to as a Tin Man, a designation derived from the tin badges worn by the O.Z.’s police force prior to the usurpation of power by the witch Azkadellia. Together, they traverse the Outer Zone while confronting the consequences of Azkadellia’s rule and the damage inflicted upon Cain’s family and emotional life.
