Summary
Thirteen years prior to the events of the series, in the New Common Era calendar, the global energy infrastructure underwent a catastrophic incident. The central control system governing Enetron, a newly discovered and widely adopted energy source, was infected by a malicious program. This intrusion resulted in the creation of Messiah, an emergent artificial life‑form composed of corrupted energy, whose objective was the subjugation of humanity and the establishment of a machine‑dominated world.
Although Messiah was ultimately banished into Hyper Space through the sacrifice of the scientists overseeing the Enetron project, the disaster had lasting consequences. Three children caught in the incident were selected and trained by the Energy Management Centre to become members of its Special Operations Unit, later known as the Go‑Busters, accompanied by their robotic partners, the Buddyroids.
By 2012 NCE, a new threat emerges in the form of Enter, a mysterious operative who commands the organization Vaglass. Their objective is to harvest sufficient quantities of Enetron to restore Messiah from Hyper Space. Anticipating such a resurgence, the Go‑Busters and their Buddyroids are deployed to counter Vaglass’s incursions, battling its engineered Metaroids and invading Megazords to safeguard the city’s energy reserves.
The team is later reinforced by Masato Jin and his Buddyroid Beet J. Stag, whose arrival coincides with the revelation of Messiah’s true nature and the catastrophic consequences that would follow its return to the physical world. This knowledge strengthens the Go‑Busters’ resolve as they continue their efforts to prevent the revival of the entity that once threatened the foundation of human civilization.
