Summary
In the year 2123, humanity is in the process of evacuating Earth for resettlement in the White Crystal Solar System. As part of this effort, a specialised archival team is tasked with compiling a comprehensive repository of human knowledge. The collection, encompassing all fiction and non‑fiction, has been placed in a secure subterranean facility and organised according to an integrated alphabetical and numerical classification system. During final preparations, the team discovers that a critical volume is missing, prompting an urgent search in a remote library situated on the outskirts of the city.
The library’s supervisor, Ms. Bookhart (portrayed by Adrienne Barbeau), becomes stranded in her bookmobile during the investigation. She is unexpectedly placed into metabolic suspension for a century by a mysterious entity known only as the Wizard. Upon awakening, she finds Earth under the domination of a group referred to as the Wipers. She is subsequently discovered by a benevolent extra-terrestrial faction manifesting as four children, collectively known as the Users.
