Summary
Touched by an Angel centres on the celestial mission of Monica, an angel assigned to Earth to assist individuals facing pivotal moments in their lives. The series revives the premise popularised by Highway to Heaven, in which divine intervention guides people toward moral or emotional resolution.
Monica, recently promoted to the role of caseworker, is still learning the responsibilities of her position. She is accompanied by Tess, her experienced heavenly supervisor, who oversees Monica’s assignments and provides guidance when necessary. Together, they travel across the United States in a Cadillac convertible, seeking out individuals in need of spiritual support.
Although earnest in her efforts, Monica’s inexperience occasionally leads her to complicate the situations she is meant to resolve, prompting Tess to adopt a firm, corrective approach. Their partnership forms the narrative foundation of the series, blending moral instruction with character‑driven storytelling.
