Summary
Perfection Valley, Nevada, is portrayed as a small, isolated community whose residents generally lead quiet and uneventful lives. The town is notable for being the habitat of El Blanco, a Graboid measuring approximately thirty feet in length. El Blanco, a subterranean predator that locates prey through sound, is classified as an endangered species. As long as the creature remains within the valley, Perfection is legally protected from commercial development, preventing outside interests from demolishing or repurposing the area.
The inhabitants of Perfection are therefore required to coexist with El Blanco, managing encounters with the creature when necessary while contending with various unusual situations that arise from living in proximity to a dangerous but protected organism.
