Summary
The Yapool invasion marks a renewed attempt by an extra‑dimensional species to conquer Earth and extend its influence across the universe. In response, the Ultra‑heroes assemble, with Ultraman Ace designated as Earth’s primary defender. During the initial attacks, two civilians , Seiji Hokuto and Yuko Minami , are killed and subsequently chosen as the dual human hosts for Ace. Each receives an Ultra Ring, and by joining the rings, Hokuto and Minami transform into Ultraman Ace. The pair also enlist in the TAC (Terrible‑monster Attacking Crew), the defence organisation tasked with countering Yapool‑engineered creatures.
Ace’s signature ability is the Metallium Beam, an arm‑fired energy attack characteristic of Ultra warriors. By drawing on the combined energies of the other Ultra‑heroes, Ace can generate the Space Q, a concentrated sphere of destructive power capable of eliminating even the most formidable Yapool creations.
The series is notable for regularly featuring the broader Ultra roster. In the episode The Five Ultra Brothers Executed, the Yapool operative Ace Killer captures and crucifies all Ultra‑heroes except Ace, though they ultimately prevail. The programme also introduces Ultra Father, the sovereign of the Land of Light in Nebula M78, further expanding the mythos surrounding the Ultra‑family. With their combined strength, the Ultra‑heroes defeat the Yapool and force their retreat to their native dimension.
