Summary
In Under the Dome, the residents of Chester’s Mill confront the immediate consequences of a massive, indestructible barrier that abruptly seals off the town from the outside world. The sudden isolation results in casualties, widespread uncertainty, and escalating disorder as the community recognises that the situation may be long‑term. While struggling to secure basic resources, the townspeople also face the rise of an ambitious councilman who exploits the crisis to assert authoritarian control, and an enigmatic newcomer whose presence exposes long‑hidden secrets about the town. As the season progresses, the characters uncover clues about the dome’s nature, including a mysterious egg believed to function as its power source. Each discovery offers partial insight into the dome’s origin and purpose, yet simultaneously introduces new questions that deepen the overarching mystery.
