Summary
Forty years after the conclusion of the Cylon War, the artificially created Cylons launch a renewed and devastating campaign against humanity, annihilating the Twelve Colonies in a coordinated surprise attack. The Colonial Fleet collapses when its modernised vessels are disabled by an advanced and previously unknown Cylon cyber‑weapon. Only one warship, the Battlestar Galactica, scheduled for decommissioning and conversion into a museum—remains operational. It becomes the final line of defence between the Cylons and the complete extinction of the human race.
