Summary
The government plays virtually no role in the exploits of Captain Video, whose scientific ingenuity and sense of civic responsibility enable him to avert global catastrophe single‑handedly. Over the course of his missions, he defeats a wide array of adversaries, including Dr. Clysmok, Dahoumie, Heng Foo Seeng, Kul of Eos, Mook the Moon Man, and Nargola, while simultaneously field‑testing an assortment of advanced technologies.
Among his inventions are the Atomic Rifle, the Discatron, the Optical Scillometer, the Radio Scillograph, and the Cosmic Ray Vibrator. His most formidable opponent is Dr. Pauli, who counters with his own suite of sophisticated devices, notably the Barrier of Silence (later parodied in Get Smart), the Cloak of Invisibility, and the Trisonic Compensator.
