Summary
The programme is set at Coal Hill Academy, a long‑standing fictional London school first introduced in Doctor Who in the 1963 serial An Unearthly Child. The narrative centres on six students and staff members whose lives intersect with the school’s increasingly unstable connection to space‑time.
Among the Academy’s sixth‑form cohort, each individual carries private ambitions and unresolved personal struggles. They navigate the familiar pressures of adolescence, friendships, family expectations, academic demands, sexuality, and grief, while simultaneously confronting threats far beyond ordinary experience. The Doctor’s repeated interventions in time have weakened the fabric of reality around Coal Hill, leaving the temporal boundaries dangerously thin. As a result, hostile entities from across the universe seek to exploit these fractures, planning incursions that could unleash devastation upon Earth.
