Summary

Tagline - “The truth is down here—third door on the right.”

The premise assumes that the Roswell Incident of 1947 was genuine, that a covert alien incursion occurred, and that the United States government successfully concealed it. From this foundation, the series extrapolates a sweeping conspiracy in which key post‑war historical events may have been shaped by extraterrestrial influence.

Positioned as a hybrid of The Invaders (Invaders, the) and The X‑Files (-X-Files, the), this American thriller reimagines modern history through the lens of clandestine alien contact. At its centre are John Loengard, an idealistic congressional aide, and his partner Kimberly Sayers, who arrive in Washington, D.C., in 1961, drawn by the optimism of the Kennedy administration. Their aspirations are quickly derailed when they uncover Majestic‑12, a shadow organisation dedicated to suppressing evidence of alien infiltration.

Recruited by Majestic’s austere leader, Captain Frank Bach, Loengard is shown the preserved remains of an extraterrestrial recovered from the Roswell crash. He joins Bach in tracking individuals whose brains have become hosts for early‑stage alien life‑forms. However, Loengard soon grows disillusioned with Majestic’s extreme secrecy. Defying the organisation, he steals a fragment of alien technology in an attempt to brief President Kennedy.

Branded fugitives by Bach, Loengard and Sayers vanish, only to re-emerge after Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas in 1963. Their discovery propels them into a Fugitive‑style odyssey across America, pursued by both government agents and hostile alien entities. The series unfolds as what co‑creator Bryce Zabel describes as a “blend of fact, informed speculation, and dramatic licence,” reframing the 1960s through the prism of UFO mythology and covert extra-terrestrial intervention.
