Summary

The series follows a power‑hungry headmaster whose sinister ambitions continue the BBC’s long tradition of sophisticated children’s drama. Terrence Hardiman delivers a chilling performance as the titular Demon Headmaster, a school leader who intends to use his hypnotic abilities to infiltrate Downing Street and seize global control. Standing against him is a determined group of pupils calling themselves SPLAT, the Society for the Protection of our Lives Against Them, whose courage forms the only barrier to his plans.

In the second storyline, the Demon Headmaster returns with an even more audacious scheme. Operating from a new Biogenetic Research Centre, he experiments with genetic engineering and transgenic implants. He covertly draws Dinah Hunter and her adoptive family to the nearby village, enlisting his former ally, ex‑prefect Rose Carter, to aid him. Using his hypnotic powers, he soon dominates both the Centre and the village. Only Dinah’s new friend Simon escapes his influence, and together they must once again confront their formidable adversary.

Season 3 sees the accidental cloning of the Demon Headmaster after a military mishap. As the Hunter family settle into their new home, Harvey becomes increasingly uneasy, someone believes they have seen the Demon Headmaster, raising the alarming possibility that their old enemy has returned.
